History of WEW

Women Empowering Women is the realization of two friends, Cheri Donnelly and Story Bach. These two women met in the year 2000 while both were planning and hosting events for an activities group. Bringing people together for entertainment and networking, was a natural fit for both women. They found they worked well together and hoped one day, they would find a business they both could do and be passionate about.

Both women had been focusing on their own businesses, and regularly met to touch base with each other. These get-togethers enabled each to motivate, share ideas or leads, and inspire one another to keep going. While having coffee one day, the two realized they couldn’t be the only women who needed this kind of support. That was the day the idea for WEW was conceived. Both women strongly feel that together, women are very powerful. They wanted to create a stimulating environment that captured women’s spirit and encouraged them to achieve their dreams.

These two Dynimo's were so excited about this idea, that it took them less than three weeks to launch the first WEW event! Women who attended the meeting found themselves invigorated by the experience and it was deemed a huge success! It was at the close of that first event, November 29th, 2007, that Cheri and Story realized this vision of WEW would become a monthly celebration to support women from all walks of life.

In December of 2009 Story made the difficult decision to step down from WEW for family reasons. She knows that Cheri will take WEW into a prosperous 2010 and beyond and that she is leaving WEW in great care. While Story is not with WEW on a daily basis her spirit remains! If you would like to contact Story you may reach her at 503-545-1721 or email her at storybach@gmail.com.

Cheri Donnelly remains passionate about Women Empowering Women and will continue leading this vibrant organization into the new decade and beyond!
